An Update from the Jewish Theatre of Bloomington

Dear JTB Friends,

Because of our commitment to the health, safety and well- being of our staff, artists, and patrons, we canceled our spring show, “The Wanderers,” which would have been on stage in May of 2020. It has since been rescheduled to spring (April-May) of 2021. With the uncertainty about the spread and staying power of the coronavirus, we can only make tentative plans for the immediate future. What we can promise is that as soon as it is safe to resume production, we will be back with bells on!

Here’s the way our 2020-2021 season may shape up:

  • Summer 2020:

    • August 2020, virtual staged reading of "The Grandkid" By John Lazarus

  • Fall 2020:

    • October 2020, production of “Flyovers” by Jeffrey Sweet canceled. In its place, a possible Virtual staged reading of a yet-to-be determined play.

    • Annual fall fundraising event canceled.

    • December 2020, production of "Hanukkah Harriet" with Stages Bloomington canceled.

  • Spring 2021:

    • March 2021, annual spring fund raising event.

    • April-May, 2021, production of  “The Wanderers"

So there you have it. JTB is alive and well if temporarily side-lined, planning to be back and running full steam ahead when we are no longer held hostage by the health crisis.

We hope you are staying healthy and safely sheltered in place.

Warmly,

Audrey Heller, Producing Artistic Director

Cassie Hakken, Managing Director
