An Update from the Jewish Theatre of Bloomington

Dear JTB Friends,

Because of our commitment to the health, safety and well- being of our staff, artists, and patrons, we canceled our spring show, “The Wanderers,” which would have been on stage in May of 2020. It has since been rescheduled to spring (April-May) of 2021. With the uncertainty about the spread and staying power of the coronavirus, we can only make tentative plans for the immediate future. What we can promise is that as soon as it is safe to resume production, we will be back with bells on!

Here’s the way our 2020-2021 season may shape up:

  • Fall 2020:

    • October 2020, production of “Flyovers” by Jeffrey Sweet canceled. In its place, a possible Virtual staged reading of a yet-to-be determined play.

    • Annual fall fundraising event canceled.

  • Winter 2020/21:

    • December 2020, production of Aaaron Ricciardi’s “Hanukkah Harriet,” in collaboration with Stages Bloomington.

    • February 2010, workshop reading of “Between Two Worlds” by Joel Pierson. In collaboration with Ivy Tech Student Productions.

  • Spring 2021:

    • March 2021, annual spring fund raising event.

    • April-May, 2021, production of  “The Wanderers”

  • Spring 2021:

    • October, 20201, production of “Table 17” by Arthur Feinsod, Dale McFadden, Director

So there you have it. JTB is alive and well if temporarily side-lined, planning to be back and running full steam ahead when we are no longer held hostage by the health crisis.

We hope you are staying healthy and safely sheltered in place.
