In this witty and touching play, a psychotherapist named Ella, single mother of a musically talented child with autism, gets a visit from a new and desperate patient, God. Ella and God must learn to help each other—after all, God is suffering from having accrued too much power, while Ella has lost whatever faith (in God) she might have had. With a clash of biblical quotes framed by a modern-day wit, Gov’s funny, often brilliant text forces us to confront our own issues of faith, hubris, and the overwhelming power of humility.
CHERRY DOCS

Directed by Liam Castellan

When a neo-Nazi Skinhead, played by Christopher Crider-Plonka, is charged with a racist murder in Toronto, Legal Aid assigns him a Jewish lawyer, played by JTB veteran Jonathan Golembiecki, and they are forced to collaborate on a defense. The Skinhead is pushed beyond his prejudice, while the lawyer is forced to examine the limits of his own liberal tolerance and the demons that might be underneath it. Cherry Docs is a white-hot examination of hate and how hard it is to uproot from society. It explores the notion that as soon as we look at hatred as being outside of our own experience, we separate ourselves from accountability.
