About Darrell Ann Stone

Darrell Ann (Gamache) Stone grew up in Greater Boston where she earned a bachelor's degree in Theatre and Drama from Northeastern University (NU), and began her career with a focus in acting.
Darrell Ann moved to Bloomington for her husband to study at Indiana University, and soon became involved with the original theatre artists who were just starting the Bloomington Playwright’s Project (BPP). She spent many years acting, directing, serving their board of directors and eventually became BPP part time staff as Managing Coordinator.
She earned a Masters of Social Work (MSW) graduate degree from Indiana University and worked professionally at I.U. for twenty six years as a department director, social worker, and associate faculty. Her involvement with Bloomington theatre has continually complemented a full time career.
As a freelance theatre artist she worked locally with Jewish Theatre of Bloomington (JTB), Bloomington Playwrights Project (BPP), Diversity Theatre, Cardinal Stage, Firehouse Theatre, Stages Bloomington, MOSAIC FIlm Festival, IU Studio Theatre, New Mercury Theatre, Off Night Productions. She was an ensemble actor for several years in the touring children’s theatre company Paper Moon, Co-Director of Acting Up, Co-Director of Emergent Theatre at IU and Stage Director of musicals for Sounds of South. She was represented by Helen Wells Talent Agency in Indianapolis for several years and contracted locally, regionally and nationally as voice talent for T.V., Film and Radio work with Lodestone Productions.
Soon after JTB began, Darrell Ann was immediately passionate about the theatre’s mission. It beautifully weaves together her foundations of theatre, community and Jewish identity. She has since served JTB as Co-Artistic Director with Audrey, Artistic Advisor, Board of Directors, Talk Back Facilitator as well as director and actor in productions.
Darrell Ann brings an artistic passion for storytelling, love for the arts, commitment serving the community and a lifetime foundation of theatre experience. She is thrilled to now have a focus completely on theatre and follow in Audrey Heller’s footsteps. “Audrey has been an important mentor, colleague and friend. It’s an honor to succeed her, and a privilege to guide this theatre company into its future.”
