About the event
Set in a crumbling Manhattan brownstone attic, The Price centers on Victor Franz, a New York City policeman who returns to his childhood home to sell the remaining possessions of his deceased father. As Victor prepares for the arrival of the furniture appraiser, he is unexpectedly reunited with his estranged brother, Walter. What begins as a practical matter of dividing property quickly spirals into a deeply personal reckoning with past decisions, lost opportunities, and the lingering impact of family obligations.
With sharp dialogue and richly drawn characters, The Price captures Arthur Miller’s enduring themes of identity, legacy, and the often painful cost of doing what we believe is right. The Price is a revival of JTB's 2011 production that received rave reviews.
Directed by Dale McFadden
Director Dale McFadden is Professor Emeritus in Theatre and Drama at Indiana University "where he had a long teaching and directing career in addition to serving as Associate Chair and Head of Acting and Directing Program. He also maintained an active professional career with work in Chicago, New York, Germany, and Poland." Dale has directed several JTB productions over the years and we are thrilled he will once again be at the helm directing The Price. Past JTB productions include Last Night at Ballyhoo, Oh God, and Halpern and Johnson.
