Hillary Clinton invited Sylvia McNair to sing at the White House.  Justice Sandra Day O’Connor asked her to sing at the Supreme
Court. She sang for the Pope at the Vatican in Rome. She starred in numerous roles in opera houses around the U.S. and Europe.  

Sylvia has recorded more than 70 albums including works by Bach, Handel, Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Mahler, Gershwin and
Sondheim.

More comfortable these days in flat shoes and blue jeans, she admits that she’s given her heart completely to helping refugees
and asylum seekers adjust to life in Bloomington.

Jenn Cristy is a singer, pianist, and songwriter from Bloomington, Indiana, celebrated for her piano-driven rock sound and powerhouse voice. She got her start singing backup and playing multiple instruments for John Mellencamp, whom she met while swimming competitively at Indiana University where she was later inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame. She launched her solo career in 2003, releasing seven albums including, Hotel Confessions, Crawl, and most recently, Right Where I Should Be. Her music has earned praise from outlets like The New York Times, and she's shared stages with artists such as Bob Seger, Kelly Clarkson, and Pentatonix. She also owns JCS Creative Studios, and tours the country with her tribute to the music of Tina Turner. 

Minka Wiltz is an award-winning actor, singer, writer and producer known for her powerful, embodied storytelling across theater, film, TV and voiceover. In addition to acting, Minka's work extends over two decades of operatic and concert singing experience.

Amy Jackson has led, performed, and taught Jewish liturgical and spiritual vocal music for organizations and gatherings throughout the US for close to four decades, serving as a Synagogue cantorial soloist and music educator from Florida to Oklahoma to Indiana. One of the greatest musical joys of her life was performing for fourteen years as a member of Bloomington-based a cappella group Kaia, creating global experiences for audiences throughout the region. Since 2007, Amy has been the lead vocalist for Bloomington-based Klezmer fusion band Klezmorchestra, sharing the joyful and poignant tradition of Yiddish song. And she recently joined forces with two powerhouse singers–Lara Weaver and Jenny Gibson–to create a tight-harmony trio as featured performers with Bloomington’s Swing Time Big Band.

Lara Lynn Weaver is a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist who has been making music her entire life. She sings with Voces Novae, directed by Sue Swaney. She and her longtime collaborator and musical partner Kevin MacDowell have several ensembles; Kid Kazooey and the Ballroom Roustabouts, The Lara Lynn Trio and the Klezmorchestra. Most recently, she's been singing with the Swing Time Big Band in a trio joined by Jenny Gibson and Amy Jackson.

​Kimberly Carballo serves in the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music as Director of JVA (Jacobs Virtual Academy) and as faculty in the Chamber Music and Collaborative Piano department. Ms. Carballo is also an active international performer and educator, teaching both at the university and in her private studio. She is a strong believer in and practicer of community engagement locally and globally. She founded Reimagining Opera for Kids (ROK), a music community engagement and education program based in Bloomington, Indiana. She participates annually as faculty advisor for the Indiana University student team with the Cheerful Heart Music Education Mission in the Dominican Republic and Haiti. She is a founding member of the Amity Trio, a chamber ensemble that commissions and performs new music in order to amplify underrepresented voices.  Ms. Carballo also forms part of the inaugural team for Tunaweza Kimuziki (Through Music All is Possible), a project promoting exchange among music educators, scholars, and performers in Kenya and the USA.
